Dana Tramba

Dana Tramba, known to many by her pen name Dandy Donovan, spent her career as a Registered Nurse before turning her attention full-time to writing and storytelling. Her own life gave her plenty to write about: adopted as a child, she later reconnected with her biological family after Missouri opened its sealed birth records, an experience that became the heart of her memoir, Making Peace with the Pieces of My Life, published on her 75th birthday. That book was only the beginning. Dana went on to become a Certified Life Writing Instructor, teaching others how to capture and preserve their own stories. She is the author of three books — Amazing Grace, Making Peace with the Pieces of My Life, and Living Fully Now: A Journey of Treasured Memories from Retirement Community Life — and publishes through her own imprint, Dandy Stories.

Dana now lives at Touchmark at Coffee Creek in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she teaches memoir writing classes, co-edits The Heartbeat newsletter, and coordinates the community’s Prayer Team. She also writes and reads stories weekly to residents in Memory Care, and often tells her students: “Yesterday’s memories + Today’s technology = Tomorrow’s treasures.”

Dana’s biggest supporter is her husband, Norm, and she counts her family and the Touchmark community among the blessings that keep her writing.
