Dianna Street
Dianna has been telling herself stories all her life. She has published 10 short stories in various anthologies ranging from horror to historical fiction. Her horror story “Making of a Monster” won 2005’s story of the year in SNM Horror Magazine while her historical fiction “Chi Pisa La Chike: An Irishman’s Promise” can be found in Touch My Tears: Tales from the Trail of Tears edited by Elizabeth Sawyer. “Chi Pisa La Chike” also holds the distinction of being part of a permanent collection held in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.
As an acquisition editor for 4RV Publishing many stories came across her desk allowing her to work with new authors to hone their stories into cherished children’s books. This experience has qualified her to judge writing contest for OWFI (Oklahoma Writers Federation Inc.) and The Heart Awards (Oklahoma Romance Writers Guild) where her critiques help fellow writers improve their work.
Research for the current novel she is writing led her to study herbalism from Rosemary Gladstar and her team at The Science and Art of Herbalism, the educational team at the Herbal Academy, as well as other herbalists local to Oklahoma.
In May of 2024 she will take on the position of Grant Director for OWFI where she hopes to write enough grants to ease the financial burden of learning for all authors.
